1. Register
Once you’ve submitted your foster application, we’ll send a follow-up email inviting you to complete our online orientation. After you’ve hopped through that, we’ll schedule a one-on-one welcome call with a member of our foster team to answer any lingering questions.
Be sure to check your spam or junk folder — sometimes our messages get lost in the rabbithole!!
2. Schedule
Once you’re fully registered, we’ll send you instructions to access the Foster Portal. There, we’ll work to schedule a home visit and ensure you have everything set up.
Depending on how bunny-savvy you are and what starting supplies you have, this process can take anywhere from a few days to a week or two.
3. Foster Match
Foster matches are made based on current availability, and while you’re welcome to express preferences, we cannot guarantee a specific bun will be placed in your home. Our team carefully considers each foster’s experience, the rabbit’s medical needs, and whether your setup is suitable for a single rabbit or a bonded pair.
4. The Fun Part
Once confirmed, our coordinator will schedule a pick-up or drop-off and the fun begins.
Rabbit adoptions can take time, so be prepared to spend quality time building trust, socializing your foster bun, and helping them feel safe and loved along the way.
5. Happily Ever After
The majority of our fosters are expected to bring their buns to/from our adoption events and speed dates – helping make sure that our adoptables have every opportunity to find their forever home! Goodbye is the goal, and being part of a rescue’s journey is the ultimate rewarding experience.
